Asian Games 2026 Day 10: India reaches 45 medals, stays 12th

India ended Day 10 of the Asian Games 2026 with 45 medals. Sportstar and The Indian Express reported the count after Monday, 28 September: 4 gold, 20 silver and 21 bronze. That tally puts India 12th. The medal table ranks countries by gold medals first.

China leads with 230 medals, including 132 gold. Because gold is counted first, Hong Kong, with 5 gold and 34 medals in all, is 11th. That comparison is in the account drawn from Sportstar and The Indian Express.

India won 8 medals on the day itself: four silver and four bronze. The figures are as those two outlets reported them. When the accounts were filed, Day 11 events were under way.

Esha Singh took silver in the women's 25-metre pistol. She and China's Xiao Jiaruixuan finished level at 38-38. A shoot-off settled the tie.

Three more silvers came on the track and in the field. Gulveer Singh was second in the men's 1,500 metres. Murali Sreeshankar was second in the men's long jump. Yashvir Singh was second in the men's javelin.

Vithya Ramraj won bronze in the women's 400-metre hurdles in 54.75 seconds. That broke P.T. Usha's national record of 55.42 seconds, set at the 1984 Olympics. Sportstar and The Indian Express both reported the record.

The other bronzes were Rohit Yadav in the men's javelin, Pincky Balhara in the women's 78-kilogram kurash, and Parul Chaudhary in the women's 5,000 metres.
