Update, 20 Oct 2026, 5:28 PM IST
India's third day of medal events is in a separate note, posted at 5:28 pm IST on 20 October 2026: Pranav Soorma and Simran Sharma.
This note is verified. The reel was posted at 11:28 am IST on 20 October 2026. The Asian Para Games are in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. For India's medal events this is the second day. Sportstar's live page labels the calendar day as Day 4 of the Games. Monday's day-one note, 11 medals including four golds, is Day 1 at the Asian Para Games.
Deepthi Jeevanji won the women's 400 metres in the T20 class. Mint, Sportstar and the Sports Authority of India give the time as 56.36 seconds and call it a Games record. She won the same event at the 2022 Games in Hangzhou, so this gold retains the title. Those reports treat the gold as India's fifth of these Games.
T20 is a para-athletics classification for athletes with an intellectual impairment. The letters and the number name the class. They are not a comment on the race beyond that.
Manish Narwal took silver in the men's 10 metre air pistol SH1. The Times of India reports 233.7 in the final, and reports that the result also brought India a quota for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics. A quota, in this context, is a slot for the country at those Games. It is a place India can fill. It is not itself a medal. The Times of India calls Narwal the third Indian para shooter with a Los Angeles 2028 quota, after Mona Agarwal and Avani Lekhara.
Two further silvers are in the Mint and Sportstar reports. Ashok won silver in the men's 65 kg powerlifting. A recheck of The Times of India at 11:27 am IST, noted with this reel, gives that silver as a 192 kg lift. Pradeep Kumar won silver in the javelin, class F53/54. Bronzes in the same Mint and Sportstar reports: Ayush Verma in the javelin F53/54, and Praveen Sharma in the shot put F11 with 13.86 metres.
Para table tennis added four bronzes: Bhavina Patel in Class 4-5, Sonalben Patel in Class 3, Prachi Pandey in Class 6, and Baby Sahana Ravi in Class 9. Mint, Sportstar and SAI describe Prachi Pandey and Baby Sahana Ravi as India's first medallists in the standing category at these Games.
The table was still moving when these reports were filed. Sportstar, at 10:00 am IST, had India on at least 22 medals, 5 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze, and sixth on its table, with the day still in progress. Mint had 21, split 5 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze. The Indian Express, at 9:00 am IST, had 20. The brief records that Express figure as a number, without a gold-silver-bronze split. The reports do not name which medal accounts for the gap between Mint's 21 and Sportstar's 22.
