This note is NP EXPLAINS. The stamp is verified. Air India's post on X, read as the travel advisory, is timed 11:11 am IST on 16 October 2026. The caption's check is 12:50 pm IST. A later recheck is 1:45 pm IST. The post went up at 1:57 pm IST.

Air India has cancelled all flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah until 20 October 2026. The airline's advisory uses the words "evolving situation in Saudi Arabia". An earlier window for these cancellations ran until 17 October. The airline has not given a date for the flights to resume. This note does not add one.

Affected passengers get a full refund. The Times of India sets out the steps. A booking made on the Air India website or app is handled in Manage Booking. A booking made through a travel agent or a third-party site goes back to that agent or that site. A ticket bought at a ticketing office goes back to that office. The money returns to the account from which the payment was made.

Other airlines have their own dates. The Hindu, in a report at 12:35 pm IST on 16 October, says IndiGo's flights to Saudi Arabia run as cancelled until 24 October. It says Akasa Air's Riyadh flights run until 24 October, and its Jeddah flights until 21 October. Those are The Hindu's dates. A passenger confirms with the airline they booked. This note does not use an older set of dates for those carriers.

The context, kept as context, is an attack on 10 October at Riyadh airport. The Indian Embassy, The Hindu and The Indian Express report that one Indian national died. The caption's setting for that death is Houthi drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, including on Riyadh airport. That setting is the caption's, attributed, and not a finding added here.

An earlier published note is the embassy's advisory to remain alert, from 8 and 9 October: Indians in Saudi Arabia advised to 'remain alert': what the Indian Embassy's advisory says. That note and this one are different. This one is Air India's cancellation through 20 October, and the later reports of one Indian death on 10 October.

The Ministry of External Affairs brief puts the number of Indians in Saudi Arabia at 2.74 million, which is about 27.4 lakh. Umrah travellers also use these routes. That is why the cancellation reaches beyond one airline's own passengers.

What is verified is the Air India cancellation until 20 October 2026, the three cities, the full-refund steps, and The Hindu's dates for IndiGo and Akasa. What is context is the 10 October attack and one Indian death, as those reports give them. What has not been announced is a date for the flights to resume.
