This note is NP NOW. The stamp is verified. News on AIR, The Times of India and DD News were live-checked at 11:00 am IST on 16 October 2026, with The Hindu and the Press Information Bureau also in the source list. The reel went up at 6:41 pm IST.

On 15 October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Ladakh projects worth about ₹3,350 crore. He did it virtually, by video conference. The main event was at Sindhu Ghat in Leh, where Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena was present. News on AIR reports that setting.

The caption's list, drawn from News on AIR, has six items. One is the new passenger terminal at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. One is a 298-kilometre road, Nimmu–Padum–Darcha, built by the Border Roads Organisation. It runs through the Zanskar valley and links Leh to Darcha in Himachal Pradesh. One is the 9 MW Hanu small hydro project. One is a 66 kV transmission line, Dah–Hanu–Khaltsi. One is India's first Petroglyph Conservation Park, at Sindhu Ghat. One is Project Him Sarovar: 40 water bodies in 40 villages. An official headline speaks of five projects. The list News on AIR prints has these six items. This note keeps the headline's "five" and the list's six side by side.

The terminal's numbers are not identical across outlets. The Times of India puts the cost at about ₹640 crore, the area at 23,800 square metres, and the capacity at 35 lakh passengers a year. DD News puts the cost at about ₹650 crore, and describes capacity as moving from 10 lakh to 35 lakh. Both costs are printed here. They are not merged into a third figure.

The Times of India describes the road as an alternative in addition to the Srinagar–Leh and Manali–Leh highways, and says people in Zanskar gain a better reach to health care, education and markets. That description is The Times of India's.

A separate published note is about the same week's political talks in Leh, which ended without a deal: Ladakh talks end without a deal. That note is the Home Ministry meeting with Ladakh groups. This note is the inauguration of projects. They are not the same event.

The pictures are file photographs and representational footage, not pictures of the new terminal or of the inauguration. The airport frame is a view of Leh Airport from Spituk Gompa, by Jiten Mehra, Wikimedia Commons, CC BY-SA 2.5, labelled FILE, and it is not the new terminal. The road frame is the Darcha–Padum road below Shinku La in October 2022, by Timothy A. Gonsalves, CC BY-SA 4.0, labelled FILE. The moving pictures are Ladakh road footage by Ex Route Adventures, Dean J and Priya Latwal on Pexels, labelled representational, and they are not the projects opened on 15 October. The other cards are graphics made by Neutral Politics. The credit for those is "NP graphic".

What is verified is the virtual opening, the total, and the listed works. What differs by outlet is the terminal's cost, and five against six. What is a different story is the political talks.
